Blog

— From Mid-century Modern to local architectural travel tips and destinations, we love architecture and design. We have worked hard to make our architecture blog interesting to industry professionals but also to folks outside of the design industry. We like to highlight unique designs, interesting materials, and great travel destinations that architecture lovers would, well…love and become obsessed about, like us.

Ray Eames

One of the great masterminds of design was born. Happy birthday to Ray Eames! Grateful to have been exposed to her mastery, drive and elegance. Her contribution to the design industry was, and still is, gigantic.

Today's Designer Birthday Spotlight is on designer Ray Eames.

Today's Designer Birthday Spotlight is on designer Ray Eames.

On December 15, 1912, Ray Eames was born in Sacramento, CA. She was known for her exquisite and critical eye, a rare gift for color, and painstaking attention to detail. She also had a technical aptitude for structure, leading to the creation of elegant, intuitive forms—both graphically and sculpturally.

What works good is better than what looks good, because what works good lasts.
— Ray Eames

What's new in the Studio?

We added a FAQ section to the BOTTEGA miscellanea website! Check it out here: www.bottegamisc.com/faq. Have a question you think may be useful to add? Send it along to studio@bottegamisc.com and we'll consider adding it to the site.

We have also been working on explaining our Discovery Process, which is our formula for uncovering the path to success for a project. Think of it like starting a diet - you need a strong nutrition plan in place in order to be successful.

   All the best,
